JRPG Battle System
After careful research, I have decided to make a JRPG Battle System for my graduation project based on 300+ survey answers about both JRPG players' demographic and what they want to see in a battle system.
The result is an attempt to imitate the battle system found in Grandia, a cancel-based system that is in-between a turn-based system and ATB.
I am a Game Design student doing this project alone. Therefore, it was difficult to make this with my knowledge of programming. I made everything on my own; the assets, the programming, etc.
The key to my graduation project is the addition of mechanics/enhancements that try to make the battle system more of a continuation from the story, in the sense that you can get to know a character or situation better throughout the battle. I am very curious to find out how this is perceived by players.
Please fill in the linked survey after playing, and be absolutely brutal and honest in your opinions! :) I am FAR from making a good system, but I hope I can get good feedback and make this better step-by-step.
